Ministry professionals and teachers of wide experience in the local church or parachurch ministries are invited to apply to become International Master Trainers. ECM's Cross Cultural Training prepares you to serve as God directs you on ECM International Training Teams. Most team travel involves one to two weeks. The Institute held in Ghana involves travel, following the training, to other West African countries and requires 3-6 weeks in the summer.

Every Child Ministries qualifies as a certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award Program
. Every Child Ministries (ECM), is a nondenominational Christian mission based in Hebron, IN for the forgotten children of Africa. Since 2005, ECM has qualified as a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Former President George W. Bush has challenged Americans to dedicate 4,000 hours over the course of their lives to volunteering. Every Child Ministries depends highly on volunteers to accomplish the work of the ministry – both in Africa and at our International office in Hebron, IN. Volunteers at ECM’s Hebron office do everything from typing Sunday School lessons in African languages, to packing donated items for shipment to Africa, to assisting with mailings such as our newsletter. Now, Every Child Ministries’ volunteers can earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award for the hours they donate to the ministry.
For example, if you volunteer 100 hours or more in one year, adults (25 and over) earn:
- A personalized certificate
- A letter from the President of the United States
- A letter from the President’s Council on Service & Civic Participation
- A bronze pin for 100 to 249 hours, a silver pin for 250 to 499 hours, a gold pin for 500 hours or more, or The President's Call to Service Award (once in your lifetime) for 4,000 or more service hours
There are separate levels for kids, young adults and families and volunteers are eligible to earn a pin every year. Every Child Ministries seeks volunteers Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm in our Hebron office at 875 South State Road 2. Call 219-996-4201 for more information.

Wherever You Are, If You are Fluent in French or an African Language and also in English:
ECM has opportunities for you to help your own people on a volunteer (unpaid) basis by translating Christian literature, teaching and training materials into your native language. ECM will publish the materials on our website, www.teachingforafrica.com, giving you a "by" line and a certificate of recognition. It's a great service for the Lord and it looks great on your resum. You may also qualify to serve as a translator for one of our MASTER TRAINER teams that travel to various parts of Africa training African nationals.
Group Projects:
If you are a member of a group, why not suggest a service project you can enjoy doing together that also benefits needy kids? Here are some ideas:
Sewing project:
Girls' skirts and dresses (knee or midi-length), and boys' shorts and pants are always in demand. Use sturdy cotton, rayon, or denim, bright or darker colors preferred, full range of sizes for children and youth.
"Wordless Books" of felt, Wordless "Worms" made from colored pom-poms:
Prepare simple felt books that use color symbolism to teach children God's plan of salvation. Carefully cut pieces of felt 4"x6" in the following colors: gold or bright yellow, black, red, white, and green. Assemble the pieces in that order. Stitch on one side. Although the stack is bulky, the material is soft and will stitch easily on any ordinary sewing machine. Ship or bring them to ECM to use in our training seminars.
Normally we like to give one to each teacher. (We realize they can be made of construction paper, but felt is much lighter weight, costing us less to get there, and it is also sturdier and lasts a long time.)
Make God use YOUR hands to bless the children of Africa! When we all work together, they will be FORGOTTEN NO MORE!
