Christine Sliwinski

Serving the children and families of war-torn northern Uganda

Christine first served with ECM as a short-term missionary to northern Uganda.  Having been moved by the needs she saw and the people she met she decided to return and continue the work that is so desperately needed.  Christine has now been working in Gulu since September 09 and God is certainly at work in Uganda and it is exciting to hear about the things that are being accomplished for His kingdom. 

Christine is currently the acting Gulu District Director and is providing strong, Christ-focused leadership to the programs currently in place.  Please pray for her as she makes decisions about current programs and considers areas in which the ministry should grow.  Since September the sponsorship program has grown, they have opened a new library for the children to be tutored and study in and they have a new feeding program that makes sure the children are receiving at least one nutritional meal five days a week.  These are all huge victories for the Tegotatoo Sponsorship program and God's glory!

Ashley Bentz joined Team Gulu in January from Texas.  She and Christine live together and she has been a tremendous encouragement to both the staff and Christine.  She is working with a new discipleship program and has been encouraged by sharing the Gospel message and seeing it change lives drastically. 

Christine is currently back in the States on a short reprieve to see family & friends and will be sharing with many groups and churches about her ministry in Uganda.  Please be praying with us that her time will be refreshing and produce many new partners for her work.  Also be praying for Team Gulu while she is away that things will run smoothly until she returns in July.

Please also be praying, as there are several other longterm-missionaries currently raising their funds to join Christine in Northern Uganda.
