Working at Haven of Hope

Hannah first began her work in Ghana in June 2010.  After a short furlough home this past summer Hannah has returned for a second term. 

In June 2010 she traveled over with the short-term missions team and spent three weeks teaching God's word in elementary schools in the Volta Region. 

Hannah then began working with Mary and Judith, members of the ECM National Staff team, counceling women who have recently been released from shrine slavery.  She worked one-on-one with these women, listening to their stories, showing them God's unending love and discipling them in God's word.

Hannah still spends some of her time working with Mary and Judith but she is mostly working with our precious children at Haven of Hope.  Before returning home last summer Hannah felt God strongly leading her to ministry at the home and she found her heart was pulled to working with children.  She now leads Bible study groups for the boys 12 and under and the girls 12 and under, she also is spending time discipling the older girls one-on-one.  She is hoping to begin special Bible study for children who attend school at Haven Academy but do not live at the home, and lastly she will be continuing a Bible study started in a nearby village by another missionary on Fridays.  Hannah recently wrote that they are enjoying lots of time fishing - even the girls are begining to enjoy it and she shares "My compassion and love for these kids continues to grow each day and I once again want to thank you for allowing me to come here..."

Please pray for Hannah, that God would use her in awesome ways to show His love these children and staff at Haven of Hope.  May God use Hannah in mighty ways for His Kingdom.
