Bring Hope to Africa's Homeless Street Children
Homeless. Hopeless. There is only one letter's difference. With the help of many partners, Every Child Ministries is bringing new hope to some of the neediest children in Ghana, West Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa. These are children who were going to bed hungry almost every night. The gifts of our partners are now providing vitamins and a hot, nutritious meal following each Sunday's street fellowship meeting. These are children whose only possessions other than the most basic clothing is a simple bamboo mat or raggedy plastic sack. Our partners are now enabling us to distribute decent clothing to the children, to help them get to the hospital when they are sick, and to help them with other basic needs.
The sack or mat on which these street children sleep is their only bed and their only protection from the cold, damp ground. During the day, they hide it and hope it will not be stolen before nightfall. Some, living with their homeless mothers, sleep under "tents" made by stringing up a sheet of plastic from the front of a store after closing hours.

We at ECM believe God's people should be that intervening hand of love that can introduce them to Jesus and change their lives. |
Now the gifts of many partners have built Haven of Hope Home in Ghana to help needy street children like these. This home is an incredible gift for children who have nothing and feel like worse than nothing. In helping ECM to establish Haven of Hope, our partners have shown these kids that someone really cares for them, that even street children have great value in God's sight, and in ours. Our partners are giving these street children the priceless gift of HOPE!
