Augustine lives in a small house with his five siblings and mother. The father lives in another town and works as a teacher. The mother does small scale gardening/farming to make a meager living for the children. Mostly they eat the produce, but sometimes she is able to sell some of the produce. Augustine was born with albinism which makes his situation even more difficult because he lacks the necessary preventative items for his skin, such as sun lotion, a hat, sunglasses, and lip balm. 3 of his siblings also have albinism. The family is not able to pay for both food and school fees, let alone these extra items for health and skin protection.
