Dedukope Community

About the Dedukope Community

The Dedukope community, located in the Volta Region of southeastern Ghana, is home to around 8,000 residents. Life here revolves around fishing and subsistence farming, but poverty, limited infrastructure, and seasonal flooding continue to affect livelihoods. Educational attainment is low due to insufficient schools and learning materials, and access to healthcare remains scarce. The Ewe people, who primarily speak Ewe, are eager to see change. Local leaders and families are hopeful that partnerships with organizations like ECM can foster spiritual growth, improve schooling and medical support, and empower youth with practical opportunities for the future.
